The context
Following a reflection on the redefinition of their profession within the HSA Health, Safety and Working Conditions Committee, a group composed of people in charge of building maintenance and company executives decided to commission a unique tool to improve their daily presence at the sites where they work. The group is getting closer to Pointdefuite. The commission concerns a tool that can improve the daily comfort of cleaning staff and enable them to establish new relationships of trust with the inhabitants. The household trolley must serve as a relay for them to the inhabitants of the sites and facilitate relations and the empowerment of each person to increase respect for their daily environment, all in a spirit of benevolent complicity.
The commission
For the group of patrons, Normal Studio designs a new type of cart that borrows from the world of the cycle and calls it Le Messager. Following the adjustments made to the prototype, in close collaboration with the patrons and designers who together travel to the manufacturing site, a series of thirty copies is produced by a company from Agen, Défi Industries, which fully supports the spirit of the project and its innovative nature. In parallel and to give voice to this messenger, a writer journalist accompanies the group of patrons and helps them to formulate playful, fun, offbeat and unconventional messages designed to create caring relationships with residents.
Normal Studio
Normal Studio is an industrial design agency founded in 2006 by Jean-François Dingjian and Eloi Chafaï. Observers of the technical and customary processes of technology transfer, they reinvest the forms of everyday life through a simple and precise design that enhances the quality of use. They are interested in both product design and space design, scenography. Their work always begins with a survey of local companies ; they also collaborate with companies in industry but are also looking for the craftsman concerned with quality and research.
