Fältöversten is a building that in itself constitutes an entire neighbourhood. At the time of its inauguration in 1970 it was intended to be used as a community centre, where social dimensions were just as important as the commercial function. Since then, Fältöversten has undergone several alterations. Its renovation in 2000 revealed an exclusively commercial aspect, with the removal of all public benches and usual meeting points. In view of these changes, the patrons, who were attached to Fältöversten's history, wanted to re-appropriate this space. The work of artist Magnus Bärtås consists of several elements: an oversized fibreglass couch with loudspeakers integrated into the back, at both ends, through which six narratives on the history of the places are played. Facing the couch, above a sentence about the origins of the place written on the wall, hangs a painting of the Swedish flag superimposed on the red flag of the Socialist International.

Magnus Bärtås' work is in the shopping mall of the Fältöversten building complex in Stockholm.
